I work in a wide range of live mediums,; from collaborative devised studio based experimental theatre (what a earful!) to activities/sm in public spaces and site-specific work, sometimes using wood chisels and power tools at other times, white paint and 9 inch rollers are employed, sometimes I go about my everyday and use that as a medium.
Space fascinates me; by space I mean our personal space, our public and private space, our corporate space, our third space, our designed space, our collapsing space, our space of knowing, our space of thought, our spatial sense. The space between you and me and the endless activity that happens amidst us; our gaze, our speech, our touch, our balance, our feeling, our sense of self as determined by the space we create with others and objects.
I tend to approach the' work' through a process based form where the outcome is a product of the process rather than the process being a product of a designed outcome. Allowing space for Chance in the making and the understanding of my work is key. I try to foster a spontaneous order and through the complexity of collaboration, attempt to find an explosive reaction between multiple individualities.
I tend to focus on interests rather than questions; questions by-pass our feelings and go straight to our minds. I wonder through my feelings.
